What to Expect from a Hearing Test?
Hearing is complex, and no two people’s hearing experiences are the same. That’s why our fully qualified audiologists are ready to conduct an in-depth hearing assessment, tailored to your unique needs.
Our comprehensive hearing tests are:
- Free – We do not charge for your hearing health assessment.
- Comfortable & Painless – No discomfort, just clear insights into your hearing health.
- Thorough & Precise – We assess every aspect of your hearing, including speech clarity.
- Technology-Driven – We use the latest video otoscopes, 3D ear scanners, and soundproof audiology booths for the most accurate results.
- Personalised to You – We take the time to understand your lifestyle and recommend solutions that suit you.
Our Hearing Test Process
Step 1: Video Otoscopy – Examining Your Ear Health
We begin with a video otoscopy, a high-resolution camera that allows us to examine your outer ear, ear canal, and eardrum. You’ll even be able to see what we see on a large screen, making it easy to understand your ear health.
Step 2: Pure Tone Audiometry – Measuring Your Hearing Ability
Using our state-of-the-art, soundproof audiology booths, we conduct a hearing evaluation where you’ll listen to various tones through headphones and indicate when you hear them. This determines your hearing threshold and detects any signs of hearing loss.
Step 3: Speech Discrimination Testing –
Understanding Clarity in Different Environments
Hearing isn’t just about volume—it’s about clarity. We assess how well you can understand speech in quiet and noisy environments. This helps us determine how your brain processes sound and whether you would benefit from a hearing aid or other assistive solutions.
Step 4: Tympanometry – Middle Ear Function Testing
We check the mobility of your eardrum and conduction bones using tympanometry, which helps diagnose issues such as fluid buildup, eustachian tube dysfunction, or middle ear problems.
Step 5: Audiogram & Discussion – Your Personalised Hearing Profile
Once all tests are complete, we compile your results into an audiogram, a detailed visual representation of your hearing ability. Our audiologist will then explain the findings, answer any questions, and discuss potential next steps—whether that’s monitoring your hearing, exploring hearing aid options, or preventative ear care advice.

Who Should Have a Hearing Test?
Hearing loss is gradual and often goes unnoticed. You should book a hearing test if you experience:
- Difficulty hearing conversations, especially in noisy environments
- Frequently asking people to repeat themselves
- Turning the TV or radio up louder than others prefer
- Ringing, buzzing, or hissing sounds in your ears (tinnitus)
- A history of noise exposure from work or hobbies
If you’re unsure about your hearing, don’t wait—early detection is key to protecting your long-term hearing health.
