As promised just a few lines to explain what a difference my life has been since receiving my new hearing aids. I am a much more confident person in my workplace and socially.

My friends and family have said what a difference they have seen in me; I join conversations whereas before I would just smile and nod and hope that I was giving the right facial expressions. I felt it far less embarrassing to shy away than to ask people to repeat themselves. When I returned to my car after having been fitted with the ear pieces I had a few tears, it was lovely to hear the sharpness of different sounds I did not realise how much I was missing.

As you know Selma, my son is getting married shortly and the design of the Phonak digital hearing aids enable me to wear my hair up knowing that no one can see my ear pieces. Vanity I know!

I would also like to say a big thank you to yourself and Marguerite for your friendly approach, because for me the visit was a tough one. It has always been hard for me to accept that I have a disability but you both made me feel at ease. Your professionalism is outstanding.

I would like to thank you for your fantastic help in being able to hear everything so clearly with my hearing aid; it is so comfortable and almost invisible. I am ninety years old and I would thoroughly recommend Help in Hearing to anyone.

I am writing to tell you how impressed I am with the two Oticon Delta 8000 hearing aids, which you fitted recently. As you know, I was reluctant to have hearing aids, because I thought I did not require them.

In addition, I did not want to have “the old fashioned”, hearing aids fitted, behind my ears, which is normally associated with being “old”, and which I thought that I would have to have, to resolve any hearing defects, which my wife and family kept telling me that I had!

I was very impressed with the professional way you examined both my ears and “yours” is the best hearing test I have ever had. I am retired now, but before that, I held a senior position in the pharmaceutical industry and they insisted that I had an Annual Health Check-up, which included hearing tests, at BUPA, in London.

Even after your comprehensive hearing test and the computer analysis, which showed that I had “less than perfect hearing” in both ears, and then being shown the Delta 8000 hearing aids which you informed me would correct the situation, I was very sceptical, especially as they are expensive items.

However on returning to you clinic you set-up my new Delta 8000 aids, utilising your special computer software, and I could not believe the difference in my hearing levels.

You explained you had set the aids at Level 1 and to get the best usage from them, they needed to go to Level 3. Only then could I expect to have hearing levels, similar to those I had, when I was a young man. I was able to hear things, like the ticking of a clock that I had not been able to do so previously. After two weeks, I visited your clinic again and after another professional examination, you felt that I was ready to go to Level 3.

You have transformed my hearing levels, and the Delta 8000 aids are so neat that many people do not even know that I have Hearing Aids fitted. They are brilliant, in both the way they look, and the way they have transformed my hearing.

Many thanks for your help and advice I will certainly recommend your professional advice and service and these brilliant hearing aids, to anyone who requires help with their hearing!

We pride ourselves on our after care service and we are committed to provide all our clients with ongoing support, be it by supplying you with batteries, cleaning tools or by offering a ‘drop-in’ service to have your hearing aids checked, dehumidified, cleaned and sterilised, bringing them back to their best sound quality.

We recommend an annual check up, which will include a hearing test and if necessary the reprogramming of your hearing aids.

Our main objective is that all our patients will continue to turn to us in future for Help in Hearing.

What if I can’t get on with my hearing aids?

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

We want to ensure that you are satisfied with your hearing aids and in the unlikely event of you not getting used to them, we can offer you an alternative product on the same terms. Should you however not want to go any further we will take the hearing aids back and provide a refund, provided it is within 60 days of the fitting appointment.

What happens after the hearing aids have been fitted?

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Once the hearing devices have been fitted we will arrange a comprehensive after care program to make sure you get the best possible results with your new aids. It is important that they are comfortable and properly adjusted for sound and you are able to adapt to all the new sounds you will hear again. This after care process is the most essential part of obtaining the best results for you. This is particularly true of modern hearing aids, which will need to be adjusted in gradual steps.

Will I need a hearing aid?

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

The outcome is not inevitable that hearing aids are required but more often than not, hearing instruments are the remedy and they will vastly improve the quality of life for you and your family. Approach them with an open mind and you will be pleasantly surprised by how effective, comfortable and discrete they can be.
